I lead design at mission-driven companies.
Now at Assessment for Good, building social-emotional learning tools for Black and Latinx kids; next, looking for design leadership at an early-stage company in climate, civic, education, or health.
Now
I'm currently leading design at Assessment for Good, where we're building social-emotional learning tools for Black and Latinx kids in grades 3–9. As the lead and only product designer, I work closely with our research, engineering, and program teams to translate years of academic research into something teachers and kids actually want to use. My role wraps in June 2026.
Alongside that, I'm a Climatebase Fellow, working through what it would mean to bring my design practice into climate work. I teach in higher education, advise startups, and continue to operate independently under Thinkside, the practice I started years ago and have kept going in different forms since.
Previously
I joined Geode Capital, a $1.2 trillion asset manager, to help rebuild their internal product operations. I hired and led a team of three, one UX Researcher and two Product Designers. Within a year we shipped a suite of fund management tools that replaced disconnected legacy systems.
Before Geode, I was Director of Design in HubSpot's marketing department. I led a team of six, partnering closely with the Directors of Engineering and Video, and worked with the product team to unify our design systems. By the end of my tenure we'd shipped a coherent system of marketing experiences serving millions of monthly visitors.
My first leadership role was at Lighter, a nutrition startup, where I was the lead designer working with engineering and business development on a Whole Foods white-label. I started teaching at General Assembly around the same time and found a passion for teaching that's continued since.
Independent practice
I started Thinkside as a solo studio working with small businesses and nonprofits—logos, websites, the full range. Over time I refined my craft and learned how much design shapes the way a business grows. I still run Thinkside today, mostly as the home for advisory work and independent projects.
That early studio work led to Brand Hack, which I cofounded with a colleague. Our custom-built creative teams gave startups everything they needed to launch—name, logo, deck, website, portraiture, pitch language—in a single 8-hour sprint. I learned how to lead cross-functional creative teams under real pressure and ambiguity.
Earlier
I started in publication design after a BFA in Graphic Design from Boston University, working on books, catalogs, and early websites at a small studio. After a few years there, I went out on my own.
